CSOs Launch Tools to Improve Public Debt Tracking and Financial Transparency

The Economic Governance Platform (EGP), hosted by the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC), with support from Oxfam and Open Society Africa has launched two online tools—the Public Debt Tracker and the IMF Bailout Dashboard—to enhance transparency and accountability in Ghana’s public debt management.

The platform provides:

✅ Real-time data on Ghana’s national debt, categorizing domestic and external components.

✅ Tracking of government borrowing patterns and inefficiencies in public spending.

✅ Transparency & accountability in how public finances are managed, with data sourced from the Bank of Ghana, the Ministry of Finance, and the IMF.

✅ Update on the 17th/18th IMF bailout. Providing accurate data on the $3b extended credit facility and all reviews by the IMF

These tools offer real-time updates on Ghana’s public debt, breaking down complex economic information into digestible formats. The IMF Bailout Dashboard further tracks performance indicators such as inflation rates, international reserves, and GDP growth, enabling users to monitor Ghana’s progress in meeting IMF targets.

By equipping citizens with accurate and accessible financial data, we can ask the right questions and demand responsible governance—before another crisis forces urgent action.
