GACC and FCDO Undertake Monitoring Visits to LANets in Koforidua and Tolon

As part of the project, “An Anti-Corruption Initiative for Enhancing Governance and Accountability,” the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC), in collaboration with the British High Commission Accra, conducted monitoring visits to Local Accountability Networks (LANets) in Koforidua on 14th  April 2026 and Tolon on 17th  April 2026 to assess progress made under the project and better understand implementation challenges.

The engagements provided the British High Commission with deeper insights into the formation and functioning of the LANets, challenges encountered during implementation, and the results and impact achieved since the inception of the project. The LANets also shared key lessons learned and proposed recommendations to strengthen the initiative going forward. The Tolon District Assembly was also engaged as part of the visit.

The FCDO delegation comprised Madam Clara Osei-Boateng, Governance Advisor at the British High Commission; Richard Addo, Programmes Officer at the British High Commission; and Christopher Apuusa, Programmes Assistant at the British High Commission, who participated in stakeholder engagements and discussions.

The project is being implemented in partnership with the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) and Transparency International Ghana (TI-Ghana) to strengthen civic oversight, promote transparency, and increase citizen engagement in governance.
