GACC Releases 2025 State of Corruption Report

The Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) has released the 2025 State of Corruption Report, the third edition of its flagship publication assessing Ghana’s anti-corruption landscape and efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance. The report reviews developments from January to December 2025, highlighting progress, persistent challenges, and recommendations to strengthen the country’s anti-corruption framework.

Drawing on evidence from the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), Afrobarometer Survey, Auditor-General’s Reports, the Ibrahim Index of African Governance, and other credible sources, the report examines Ghana’s performance on key corruption indicators, the work of state accountability institutions, and the contributions of civil society organisations and the media.

The report finds that while accountability institutions continue to make progress through investigations, prosecutions, audits, public education, and asset recovery, challenges relating to enforcement, implementation, political will, and sustainable funding continue to hinder the country’s fight against corruption. It offers practical recommendations to strengthen institutions, improve governance, and build public trust.

The 2025 State of Corruption Report is intended to serve as a valuable resource for policymakers, accountability institutions, civil society organisations, development partners, researchers, the media, and citizens committed to advancing transparency and accountability in Ghana.
